Burgers Equation and One-Dimensional Turbulence refers to the statistical study of the solutions to the one-dimensional Burgers equation with random initial condition or random forcing. This problem appears as one of the simplest instances of a non-linear system out of equilibrium. Besides its applications to statistical physics, fluid dynamics, and cosmology, the Burgers equation triggered significant advances in random Lagrangian systems, stochastic partial differential equations, and the theory of random dynamical systems.
