Ferdinand Verhulst (b. September 3, 1939) is a professor of mathematics at the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Verhulst received his Ph.D. (1973) in mathematics from the University of Utrecht.
Besides his contributions to research areas like asymptotic analysis, dynamical systems, applications in nonlinear oscillations, engineering, astrophysics, and climate dynamics, he was an editor of the SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics and still holds editorship positions for the Journal of Nonlinear Science, Nonlinear Dynamics, and the Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (ZAMM).
