This is a nice review, in terms of the description of the physics and the modern applications. The Konishi anomaly equation has been extremely useful in the analysis of supersymmetric theories. In words, the Konishi anomaly equation is a superspace equation of a current non-conservation, accounting for both the explicit breaking (by superpotential terms) and anomalous breaking.
It this regard, it could be appropriate to reference some earlier works on the related history of the axial anomaly in supersymmetric theories. There is a paper from 1979 by Clark, Piguet, and Sibold on the axial anomaly in SQED, and also the general superspace form of the anomaly appears in the 1983 Superspace book by Gates et. al.
