Talk:Computational models of cognitive deficits in Parkinson's disease
From Scholarpedia
This entry is an excellent discussion of computational models that have been used to investigate cognitive dysfunction in PD. The entry would benefit from a very brief acknowledgement of the variety of neurotransmitter systems (other than dopamine) that are affected in PD (acetylcholine is mentioned, but only in passing). One approach would be to pose this as a challenge for future models of cognitive dysfunction in PD. Namely, models may have to also incorporate non-dopaminergic mechanisms in order to fully account for the diversity of cognitive dysfunction in PD patients.
