I have read the cellular mechanisms scholarpedia article and think that it is a very good terse summary of the area

I have no detailed criticisms but do note that some properties have some key molecular information (migration, condensation etc), others are a bit thin here

hence: you might want to add some molecular data

also: I think that Gilbert is up to edition 8

Reply: The problem is that some mechanisms are well understood at a molecular level, but others much less so. I have therefore said this, rather than taken the potentially misleading route of trying to summarize stories that are still very murky (where there is no space for proper caveats). I have, though, added brief molecular details to cell division, planes of cell division, and elective cell death.

I have updated the Gilbert reference to edition 8 (2006).
