This is a very nice and well written article.

I have only minor comments:

1) Sections are indicated as I,II etc in the text, but their titled do not show I, II, etc.

2) In the last section, the distinction between reducible and irreducible graphs is not very clear. I would suggest to repeat the definition of irreducible graphs given in Salpeter + Bethe 1951.

The article can be accepted with these minor improvements.
