    M. Anselmino graduated in Physics in 1972 at Torino University. In 1981 he got a permanent position as researcher; from 1988 he has been Associate Professor in Theoretical Physics and, in 2001, he has obtained the promotion to Full Professorship at the University of Torino.

His scientific formation includes 3 years in London (Westfield College) and 2 years in Bloomington (Indiana, USA). M. Anselmino has been active for many years in the field of theoretical physics and elementary particle phenomenology, with a special constant interest in high energy spin physics, hadron physics and the proton structure. He is author of about 95 research papers published in international journals with referee, and of about 70 papers published in Proceedings of International Conferences, where he has delivered invited talks. He has a total of over 3000 citations and a Hirsch index of 27.

In particular he is co-author of a highly cited Physics Report on the "Theory and phenomenology of polarized deep inelastic scattering". In collaboration with a group from Cagliari, he has been among the first to use TMDs and TMD factorization to explain the large Single Spin Asymmetries measured in inclusive proton-proton interactions. Recently, his group has extracted, for the first time, the transversity distribution functions by a combined analysis of SIDIS and e+e- data.

From 2002 to 2009 he was the Head of the Department of Theoretical Physics, and, from 2006, is a member of the "Senato Accademico" of Torino University. He is a member of the Program Advisory Committee of COSY-Julich and of the Scientific Board of ECT*-Trento. He is co-editor of EPJA. He is a member of the Management Board of the large European project HadronPhysics2, and a member of the Steering Committee of the subsequent HadronPhysics3 project.
