    A composite image from observations by the SOHO satellite observatory. This combines (red) a coronagraphic view using visible light and (brown) a direct view using EUV radiation at 17.1 nm. The solar disk is not bright at this wavelength, so that an occulter is not necessary for coronal viewing.
